The NIO ES9 2026 adopts the brand’s latest Shark Nose front design, with a clean and sharp closed-off front fascia. Paired with angular split ultra-clear crystal daytime running lights, it immediately conveys a strong flagship presence. Unlike conventional lighting designs, crystal elements are ingeniously integrated inside the lamp housing, delivering a refined texture that breaks the traditional notion that functionality outweighs aesthetics. Referring to the configuration level of the current NIO ES8, this lighting system will most likely feature three sets of welcome lighting effects, three groups of projection welcomes, and two sets of projection light shows. It can project dynamic light and shadow up to 10 meters onto a wall, synchronized with music to present a 20–30 second immersive welcome experience, making every unlock moment full of ceremony.

In addition to aesthetics and sense of occasion, the practicality of the lighting system is equally impressive. The HDPL intelligent high-definition projection headlights can illuminate up to six lanes. Combined with precise multi-sensor recognition capabilities, they can detect road obstacles in a timely manner, significantly expanding the warning range during night driving. It also supports continuous optimization through FOTA updates, allowing the lighting system to evolve over time and maintain an industry-leading level.

The side profile features stretched and robust lines. Each front fender is equipped with a wide-angle LiDAR, and the nine horizontal light strips below now include the signature AD blue light. Once illuminated, it enhances the technological feel and clearly highlights the vehicle’s intelligent driving capability. In terms of hardware, the ES9 aligns directly with the flagship ET9, featuring a roof-mounted LiDAR, 4D imaging radar, and a full set of cameras. Combined with NIO’s self-developed NX9031 chip and the NIO World Model (NWM), it provides strong computing power for advanced intelligent driving, making driving in complex road conditions safer and easier.

In terms of details, the ES9 balances minimalism and technology. The window line adopts a straight design, complemented by hidden water channels, flush door handles, and electric side steps, which not only reduce drag but also make the body lines smoother. The exterior mirrors are also expected to feature AD blue lights, echoing the fender lighting elements for a more cohesive overall design. At the rear, the Super Red full-width LED light strip is retained, paired with satin-finish trim and brushed metal materials, creating a clear sense of layering and premium quality. The hidden rear wiper and rear privacy glass not only enhance the overall sophistication but also improve rear passenger privacy. Upon entering the cabin, the wraparound cockpit design of the NIO ES9 instantly delivers a strong sense of enclosure and luxury. The Skyline panoramic display runs across both the driver and passenger sides, offering not only outstanding visual impact but also allowing both occupants to view vehicle information simultaneously. The passenger display also supports basic entertainment functions such as watching videos and listening to music, balancing practicality and enjoyment. The center console is expected to feature the same 15.6-inch AMOLED floating central control screen as the NIO ET9, with fine display quality and smooth responsiveness.
